John Pennekamp National Park

We were up and moving in time to witness a spectacular sunrise. No wind again today, which was a little frustrating. We bought a sailboat after all, not a stink pot! After an hour of motoring we were passed by the same yacht that held us up at Miami Beach Marina. A quick radio conversation revealed that the captain and crew were repositioning the boat in Key West for the owners, who were due to arrive over the weekend.

We arrived at John Pennekamp National Park just in time for lunch. With my anchoring skills in serious question, we picked up a mooring ball, had a quick lunch, dropped the dinghy in the water, and headed to shore to do a little site seeing. There’s not much to see, but we did take the opportunity to dinghy up to the West Marine, which was a couple of miles from the mooring field, where I picked up a couple of parts.
