Bahamas 2015 — Here we come!

Michelle, Tug Boat, Sailor and I made it back to Coral Gables last night around 8:00 PM and had to wait at the dinghy dock for less than 15 minutes for a fellow cruiser to give me a lift out to Double Wide, which was moored at the very furthest mooring in the Dinner Key Marina Mooring Field. Once aboard, I was able to launch the dinghy and go back to the dock to pick up Michelle, the dogs, and the gear we brought with us from Texas. It was a great feeling to be back aboard Double Wide!!

mooringlayout morrings8Today we were up early, getting the boat ready to head out to the Bahamas. Now, at the end of the day, exhausted, and satisfied, we’re ready to set out tomorrow morning. The crossing is 47 miles from Miami Beach to Bimini, Bahamas and with decent weather, we can make it in about 7 hours. We have friends at the Bimini Sands Marina, so we’re hoping to stay for a day or two, drinking cool rum drinks and unwinding a bit before we continue on to the Exumas.

We’ll update you from the other side…Later!
