2014 Maintenance Projects

We brought Double Wide back to Fort Myers after our 2014 Bahamas Adventure so that we could have several maintenance projects completed. Why Fort Myers? There are several good service providers there that we really like and we wanted to get the boat close to them so they could have quick access to the boat. So here’s what we did:

We added new shelving to the starboard bow – and while we were at it, we worked on several other projects.

We reworked the storage under the forward starboard berth to provide easy access to the area.

We moved the water maker control box and filters under the forward starboard berth and reworked the access to the area below the berth so that it’s easy to get to.

We moved all the components of the water maker so that it was easy to access and all together.

We also added some cool lighting to the storage area under the port forward berth.

We added a storage area right next to the TV in the main saloon. Below is the DVD Player and above is a storage area wired as a "Charging Station."

We also had new batteries installed along with a new battery charger/Inverter combo.

Michelle built a new cover for the dinghy and I added a seat back to the seat on the dinghy to make it more comfortable.

There were a number of other projects that we worked on this summer/fall. We continue to find ways to make Double Wide more of a home for Michelle and me.
