There be Manatees in Them Waters!

Michelle has been on the look out for Manatee for the last couple of years. They’re fairly common in South Florida and the Bahamas, but we have never seen one – until this week.

We were motoring up the ICW (Intracoastal Waterway) and had just passed through Jupiter Florida. Michelle was at the helm and saw several logs in the water about 100 yards out in front of us. I stood to get a better look and we both realized at the same time that those logs were moving! MANATEE!!! A pod of 9 or so were feeding on Sargasso Weed floating at the water’s surface.
